Participants will learn to operate a sewing machine, explore a range of stitching methods, and apply practical sewing techniques. The programme also emphasises sustainability by guiding learners in creating functional and creative items from recycled fabrics and repurposed clothing.

What You'll Learn

Participants will:

• Develop confidence using a sewing machine, learning essential skills such as machine setup, threading, safe operation, and basic maintenance.

• Master a range of core sewing techniques, including stitching, seam construction, and finishing methods that form the foundation of successful sewing projects.

• Learn how to read patterns and take measurements, enabling the creation of practical and well-crafted textile items.

• Create a variety of handmade projects, such as tote bags, cushion covers, and other functional pieces, while building skills and creativity.

• Explore sustainable sewing practices by transforming recycled fabrics and pre-loved clothing into unique, useful, and environmentally conscious designs.

• Build practical, transferable skills that can be applied to personal projects, home sewing, creative endeavours, or further learning.
